Cancer-free thanks to breakthrough research

Justin’s cancer journey can be traced directly to the research of one oncologist, one major
breakthrough.

I’m very thankful for the research and all of the work that’s gone into making this cancer one that canbe defeated.

In October 2014, he was experiencing discomfort and went to see his doctor. He was ultimately diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer.

Luckily for Justin, he was treated by an oncologist at the IU Simon Cancer Center, who followed the treatment regimen pioneered by another oncologist working out of the Indiana University School of Medicine. Previously, survival rates for testicular cancer were a devastating 5%. Then, a young oncologist with the Indiana University School of Medicine had ideas for a new drug therapy regimen. His research led to a diagnosis like Justin’s going from a 5% survival rate to 80%. Today, over 95% of testicular cancer patients are considered cured through surgery or the chemotherapy regimen developed by this oncologist.

Justin underwent surgery, four chemotherapy treatments, and is now cancer-free, thanks to advancements in cancer research.
