Natalie was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in 2009 at age 33. Despite aggressive and comprehensive treatment, followed by 10 years of estrogen-blocking therapies, Natalie’s cancer returned in 2020 as stage IV metastatic breast cancer (MBC). Her local oncologist ordered a full-body PET/CT scan and an MRI of her brain upon diagnosis. Tumors were found in her brain, bones, lymph nodes, and eyes.

Without research, I would not be here today. We can’t stop investing in cancer research; there is too much at stake.

Since June 2020, Natalie has endured different forms of radiation and six lines of various therapies to treat MBC in her brain and body. The treatment plans and options that Natalie has received throughout her cancer journey would not have been available to her if it weren’t for years of investment in cancer research. Natalie continues to use her voice to advocate for further investment in lifesaving cancer research.
