Husband, father, and colon cancer fighter, Keith was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in 2021.

After five months, the cancer appeared to be gone, but Keith’s doctor ordered biomarker testing to double-check. Biomarker testing was not covered by Keith’s insurance, but it saved his life.

Throughout his journey, he also had multiple surgeries, radiation, and many rounds of chemotherapy. Despite these extreme measures, his doctors began to see the disease progress. Under their advice, Keith sought out clinical trials as a treatment option.

The trial he found helped to stop the progression of his cancer. Without continued investment in research, this biomarker testing and a clinical trial would not have been available to Keith. Keith continues to tirelessly advocate for continued investment in research so all cancer patients can have the best options.

If you cut research funding, you are talking about impacting actual people’s lives. To halt innovation and take away clinical trials from people, it’s tough to swallow.
